| Activities: Camping, Kayaking (Seasonal), Trekking |
| Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving across water. Whitewater kayaking involves taking a kayak down rapids. Sea kayaking involves taking kayaks out on to the ocean or other open water. Sea kayaking can involve short paddles with a return to the starting point or "put-in" or expeditions covering many miles and days. |
If you are looking for a high adrenalin rush on your weekend think of venturing for White Water Kayaking for three hours for twelve kilometers for approximately three hours amidst the Mookambika (247 sq. km) Sanctuary, divided into a core zone (114 sq. km) and a buffer zone (90 sq. km) and a tourism zone (43 sq. km). It has evergreen, semi-ever green and moist deciduous forests covering the steep slopes typical of the Western Ghats. The sanctuary shares its northwestern boundary with Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located in Udipi district. |
