Duke’s Nose near Khandala, is a huge pinnacle which is highly visible while traveling between Mumbai and Pune. Its shape is like a nose or a thumb. The sights from top are unique and magnificent as one sees a vast landscape and the winding Mumbai - Pune expressway cutting through the ghats and trains chugging along the tracks. Duke’s Nose trek starts from Khandala station itself and a nice 3-4 hour trek takes you to the top where a simple temple exists. It’s a rock climbers’ delight with 800 ft. of overhanging rock wall! |
